What does “On Native Land” mean to you?

“Indigenous peoples have stewarded the Land since time immemorial through reciprocal relationships that predate colonization. Acknowledging Native land honors original inhabitants, recognizes the impacts of colonization, and affirms the enduring presence, cultures, and sovereignty of Indigenous communities. “- Ayanna Proctor, Piscataway, 2027 “On Native Land” Calendar Artist

“We’re all on Native land. Indigenous peoples lived with the land, stewarding it, being part of Nature, not apart from “it”. Despite colonization and displacement, Native peoples and cultures thrive. Learning the history and cultures of the original stewards of where you live and travel is essential.” Trish Corcoran, Onondowaga, 2027 “On Native Land” Calendar Artist
